Pokehaan Craft 2 Minecraft server setup

Install the Pokehaan Craft 2 Pixelmon pack for Minecraft from the Modpacks tab, handle the EULA and help players join on version 2.16.4.

Updated 4 min read

Pokehaan Craft 2 is a Pixelmon modpack for Minecraft 1.16.5 on Forge. The project page lists over 250 quests, Pokestops that give out eggs, and many new biomes and dungeons. It is an unofficial fan project. This guide installs it from the Modpacks tab and covers how players join.

Checked against Pokehaan Craft 2 2.16.4 (Minecraft 1.16.5, Forge), October 2026.

What it needs

  • Forge on Minecraft 1.16.5. The newest file on CurseForge is Pokehaan Craft 2-2.16.4. It has a separate server pack, PokehaanCraft2-2.16.4-ServerFiles.zip, about 630 MB, which the Modpacks tab installs for you. The server pack brings its own Forge, forge-1.16.5-36.2.39.jar.
  • Java 8. The panel picks Java from the Minecraft version, and 1.16.5 gets Java 8.
  • RAM. The author's launch script sets 4 GB. Choose a plan with 4 GB of RAM or more, matching the author's launch script, on Minecraft hosting.
  • Free disk space. The zip downloads onto your server's disk before it is unpacked, so keep room for the zip and then the unpacked pack.
  • The right pack. The same author also publishes Pokehaan Craft, Pokehaan Craft 2 - Lite and others. Pick the one named exactly Pokehaan Craft 2 by Kehaan.

Install it on your server

On the Modpacks tab, choose the CurseForge chip, search for Pokehaan Craft 2 and pick the row by Kehaan with the 1.16.5 and Forge badges, not the Lite one. Click Install: the window is titled Install Pokehaan Craft 2?. The pack's own eula.txt says eula=false. If this server has not accepted the EULA before and you leave Start unticked, the Console asks you to accept it at your first Start. The rest of the window (the backup, the held Install and reinstall button and the progress bar) is in Install a CurseForge modpack.

Because the server pack carries its own Forge jar, the panel finds it and uses it to start the server. The panel writes its own start script, so the pack's LaunchServer.sh is not used and the memory comes from your plan.

Join the server

  1. In the CurseForge app, install Pokehaan Craft 2. Version 2.16.4 is the newest on its page.
  2. Add your server in the multiplayer list with the address in the left rail. Connect to your server for the first time shows where it is.

Use Operators in the Players tab to give yourself commands (Whitelist players and set operators).

Monthly egg drops

The pack page says Pokestop eggs change their drops every month, with a new generation of Pokemon to hatch, and that you need the new content update to get them.

Updating later

When the author publishes a newer file for your server's Minecraft version, the pack's card on the Modpacks tab shows Update to with that version. It only offers a file newer than the one installed, on the same Minecraft version and loader. Press it: the window that opens has that file already picked in its version dropdown, Keep my world, settings and player lists ticked, and holding Update and reinstall installs the new version. Leave Take a backup first ticked. With nothing newer out, the card reads Up to date. A pack installed before the panel update of 27 October 2026 with Newest that fits your server shows neither, because the panel did not record which file it took. To update one of those, take a backup, press Remove modpack, then install the new version.

Common problems

  • The console says no CurseForge server pack is available. Check you picked Pokehaan Craft 2, not the original or the Lite packs.
  • The server runs out of memory. Check the RAM Usage card, and see Why is my server lagging.
