Sneak's RPG Pack is a Minecraft 1.18.2 Forge modpack by the CurseForge author sneak. Its page describes an RPG setup with new armour and weapons, new generated structures, an overhauled combat system, and new enemies and bosses. You install the server from the Modpacks tab, using the pack's CurseForge server pack.
Checked against the "Sneak's RPG Pack NEW" file (the CurseForge file dated 5 May 2024) on Forge 40.2.17 and Minecraft 1.18.2, October 2026.
What the pack needs
- Minecraft 1.18.2 with Forge 40.2.17. The server pack includes Forge 40.2.17's libraries. Minecraft 1.18.2 runs on Java 17, which the panel picks for you.
- The right file. Only the newest file has a server pack. The author's changelog for it reads "ADDED SERVER PACK", and the two older files, titled Full Modpack and RPG Release, have none. The panel picks that newest file.
- Memory. The pack's CurseForge description gives no RAM figure, and the server pack holds 51 mod jars. Your plan sets the RAM, so see how much RAM a Minecraft server needs and the Minecraft plans.
- Disk space. The server pack is a download of about 232 MB and unpacks to about 257 MB. The download sits on your plan's disk while it unpacks, so you need room for both.
- The same pack version for players. Players use the same "Sneak's RPG Pack NEW" file, which is on the pack's CurseForge page.
Install the server
- Open your server and choose Modpacks under Content in the left rail.
- Press the CurseForge chip above the search box, then search for
Sneak's RPG Pack. - Pick Sneak's RPG Pack.
- Press Install. The popup says it reinstalls your server with the pack and names Forge and Minecraft 1.18.2. Leave the version picker on Newest that fits your server.
- Leave Take a backup first ticked. Your current world is replaced by the pack's. Tick Start the server when it's ready if you want it to start itself. If you do and your server has not accepted the Minecraft EULA yet, tick I agree to the Minecraft EULA too.
- Hold Install and reinstall until it fills, then wait for the install to finish. The Console tab shows its progress, and the heading names the pack by its CurseForge number, 964904.
The server pack's files sit inside one folder named Sneak's RPG Pack SERVER. The install moves them up to the server's main folder when it unpacks them, so you do not need to do anything with that folder. The server starts from the Forge files the pack ships, so nothing is downloaded for Forge.
Client-only mods
A few of the pack's mods only run on players' computers. The install turns off the ones it recognizes by renaming each jar to end in .disabled, so you do not delete anything by hand. On our test install it turned off 8 of the pack's 51 mods, including ToroHealth, Distant Horizons and Legendary Tooltips. Open Mods under Content and choose Installed: those mods show a Disabled badge and an Enable button. Leave them disabled on the server, since they run on players' computers.
First start
If you ticked Start the server when it's ready, the server starts by itself once the install finishes. Otherwise press Start on the Console tab. If the EULA has not been accepted yet, the panel asks you to accept it first. The server is up when the console prints a line containing For help, type. The first start took about a minute and a half on our test server. Your address is shown in the left rail, with a copy button beside it. Connect to your server for the first time covers adding it in Minecraft, and joining a modded server from a launcher covers the client side.
Settings the pack ships
The server pack includes a server.properties, and the install unpacks it onto your server. It sets max-players=20, difficulty=easy and allow-flight=false. In Config Editor these are Player slots, Difficulty and Allow flight. Save a change there, then restart the server to apply it.
Common problems
- A player cannot join. Check they use the same "Sneak's RPG Pack NEW" file as the server. In the server's
modsfolder, jars ending in.disabledare the client-only mods the install turned off. - The install stops while unpacking. Your plan's disk may be too small. Check Disk Analyser, clear space and install again.
- A player is kicked for flying. The pack ships
allow-flight=false. Allow flight in Config Editor stops the anti-cheat kicking players who fly. - The server stops before it finishes starting. Read the first error in the Console. Find and read a crash report shows how to name the mod at fault.
Installing a pack reinstalls your server. If you have a world you care about, keep Take a backup first ticked.
