Sprout: Explore for More is an exploration RPG modpack for Minecraft 1.10.2 on Forge. Its CurseForge page describes an immersive world full of custom structures, with NPCs who give quests and dangers that grow as you travel from spawn. The pack has not been updated since March 2020. You install the server from the Modpacks tab, using the pack's own server files.
Checked against Sprout 0.11.0 hotfix (server files dated 12 March 2020) on Forge 12.18.3.2511 and Minecraft 1.10.2, October 2026.
What the pack needs
- Minecraft 1.10.2 with Forge 12.18.3.2511. The server files include that Forge jar. For Minecraft versions before 1.17 the panel runs Java 8 and picks it for you.
- Memory. The pack's page gives no RAM figure. Its own
ServerStart.shasks for a 4096 MB heap, but your plan sets the RAM here, so check the Minecraft plans and how much RAM a Minecraft server needs before you install. - Disk space. The server files are a download of about 322 MB and unpack to about 352 MB. The download sits on your plan's disk while it unpacks, so you need room for both.
- The same pack version for players. Players should install Sprout 0.11.0 from the CurseForge app. It is a Minecraft 1.10.2 pack, so their launcher needs a 1.10.2 profile.
Install the server
Choose the CurseForge chip in Modpacks, search for Sprout Explore for More and press Install on Sprout - Explore for More. CurseForge lists no loader for this old pack, so the window may say "modded, Minecraft 1.10.2" instead of naming Forge. For the rest of the window (keeping your world, the backup, the EULA and starting when ready), follow Install a CurseForge modpack.
The server files hold the Forge jar and the Minecraft 1.10.2 server jar. The panel finds the Forge jar and launches it, then writes its own start script and sizes the heap from your plan's RAM.
First start
The pack's server.properties carries the note "recommended level-type: DEFAULT or ATG" and sets allow-flight=true and enable-command-block=true.
Pack modes
The pack has two modes. Normal mode is the default. Scavenger mode is harder: some items and blocks have no recipe and come from exploring and from NPCs. The page gives /packmode set scavenger to switch in game and /packmode set normal to switch back. The page says the Traveller NPC can offer the same switch in dialogue, and that an alternate version of that NPC without the option exists for servers that want to stay on Normal. If the server refuses the command, make yourself an operator from the Players tab with Make operator. Set up the whitelist and operators has the steps.
Common problems
- A player cannot join. Check they run Sprout 0.11.0 on Minecraft 1.10.2 with Forge, then compare their mod list with the server's
modsfolder. - The server crashes at boot. Find and read a crash report shows how to name the mod at fault. The pack has not been updated since 2020, so expect to remove or replace the failing mod yourself rather than wait for a fix.
