Seablock: Rustic Waters Minecraft server setup

Install Seablock: Rustic Waters on Minecraft Forge 1.12.2 from the Modpacks tab, then review the RCON and command block settings the pack ships with.

Updated 3 min read

Seablock: Rustic Waters is a Forge modpack for Minecraft 1.12.2 by BoolymanMC. You begin in a small enclosed underwater hub, with frigid ocean water from near bedrock to near the build limit, and work through an in-depth quest guide to generate resources and automate them. You install the server from the Modpacks tab, using the pack's own server files.

Checked against Seablock: Rustic Waters 1.3.9 on Forge 14.23.5.2847 and Minecraft 1.12.2, October 2026.

What the pack needs

  • Minecraft 1.12.2 with Forge 14.23.5.2847. The server files carry the Forge jar and the Minecraft server jar. The panel chooses the Java version from the pack's Minecraft version and runs Minecraft 1.12.2 on Java 8, so there is nothing to set.
  • Memory. The pack's own start script asks for 4 GB at the start and up to 8 GB. The pack's page gives no figure of its own. Your plan sets the RAM, so see how much RAM a Minecraft server needs and the Minecraft plans before you install.
  • Disk space. The server files are a download of about 253 MB and unpack to about 283 MB. The download sits on your plan's disk while it unpacks, so you need room for both.
  • The same pack version for players. This guide installs Seablock: Rustic Waters 1.3.9. Players should run that version.

Install the server files

On the Modpacks tab, press the CurseForge chip, then search for Seablock. Press Install on Seablock: Rustic Waters. Other packs with Seablock in the name appear in the results, so check the name. The popup should read Forge, Minecraft 1.12.2, and the pack's world replaces your current one. The backup, the held install button and the EULA box are covered in Install a CurseForge modpack.

The pack's server files sit inside one folder, SeablockRusticWatersServer1.3.9. The panel moves them up to the server's root when it unpacks them. The pack's Run_Me.bat is not used. The panel writes its own launch script and sizes the memory from your plan's RAM.

Check the pack's server settings

The pack's server.properties is kept as the pack made it. The panel changes only the address and port lines, which it sets from your server's allocation. Three things in the file are worth a look in the Config Editor.

  • RCON is switched on. The file sets enable-rcon=true and the RCON password minecraft, with the RCON port at 25575. If you do not use RCON, turn off Enable RCON under Remote access. If you do, set a long random RCON password and press Save changes. The RCON port field is read only, because your server's allocation sets it.
  • Command blocks are on. The file sets enable-command-block=true. It is listed as Command blocks under Gameplay, if you would rather turn it off.
  • Flying is off. The file sets allow-flight=false. If a player is kicked for flying while using a mod or item that lets them fly, turn on Allow flight under Gameplay.

First start

The pack ships an eula.txt with eula=TRUE, so the panel may not ask you to accept the EULA. The pack has about 175 mod files.

The pack is built for servers. Its page says a custom system spreads new players into their own hubs, far enough from other players to give each room, but close enough to visit each other by submarine.

Common problems

  • A player cannot join. Check they run Seablock: Rustic Waters 1.3.9, the version this guide installed.
  • A mod fails to load. Find and read a crash report shows how to name it.
