Regrowth is a Forge modpack for Minecraft 1.7.10 by thephoenixlodge. Its CurseForge page calls it an HQM quest pack without the usual hardcore rules: you start in a wasteland and work towards a thriving magical and technical world. CurseForge lists no server pack for it, so this guide does not use the one-click install in the Modpacks tab. Instead you set the server to Forge 1.7.10 in JAR Manager and unpack the author's own server zip over it.
Checked against Regrowth 1.0.2 (the CurseForge file dated 11 January 2017) and the server zip linked from its page, on Forge 10.13.4.1614 and Minecraft 1.7.10, October 2026.
What the pack needs
- Minecraft 1.7.10 with Forge 10.13.4.1614. The pack's
manifest.jsonnames that Forge build, and the server zip carriesforge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1614-1.7.10-universal.jar. The panel switches Java for you, which is Java 8 for this version. - Memory. The CurseForge page gives no figure. The server zip's
ServerStart.shasks for a 4 GB heap (-Xmx4096m), but the panel does not read that file. It sizes the heap from your plan's RAM at every start. Read how much RAM a Minecraft server needs and check the Minecraft plans before you install. - Disk space. The server zip is about 211 MB and unpacks to about 249 MB, so allow about 460 MB free while you unpack it.
- The same pack version for players. This guide uses 1.0.2. Players should run that version from the CurseForge app.
CurseForge also lists an unrelated pack named Regrowth by another author. This guide is for the one by thephoenixlodge.
Switch the server to Forge 1.7.10
- Open your server and choose JAR Manager under More in the left rail.
- Set Server software to Forge and Minecraft version to 1.7.10. The picker shows that it runs on Java 8.
- Press Apply change, leave Take a backup first ticked, and hold Hold to Confirm & reinstall until it fills. Wait for the install to finish.
Add the pack's files
- On Regrowth's CurseForge page, under Servers, use the here link in "1.0.2 Server files can be downloaded here" to download
RegrowthServer.zip. - The zip is over the File Manager's 100 MB browser limit, so upload it over SFTP. Open the File Manager, press SFTP at the right of its toolbar, and follow connect over SFTP. Put the zip in the server's top folder.
- In File Manager, use Extract here on
RegrowthServer.zip. It adds themods,config,librariesandscriptsfolders. - Delete
RegrowthServer.zipto free its space.
The zip carries the same Forge jar name that JAR Manager's Forge 1.7.10 install writes, so unpacking replaces it and the launch script the panel wrote keeps working.
First start
Press Start on the Console tab. If the EULA has not been accepted yet, the panel asks you to accept it first. The server is up when the console prints a line containing For help, type. Your address is in the left rail under Server address. Connect to your server for the first time covers adding it in Minecraft.
Settings
The server zip has no server.properties, so the server starts with defaults. Open the Config Editor for Player slots, Server list message and View distance (chunks). For difficulty or gamemode, edit server.properties in File Manager instead. Before Minecraft 1.14 those two took only numbers, and the Config Editor writes names such as hard.
Common problems
- The unpack stops or fails. Your plan's disk may be too small. Delete the zip, free space in File Manager, or check plans.
- A player cannot join. Check they run Regrowth 1.0.2 on Minecraft 1.7.10 with Forge.
- The server lags. Watch the RAM card on the Console tab and the TPS reading in the left rail. Why is my server lagging has more.
- The server crashes at boot. Find and read a crash report shows how to name the mod at fault.
Switching software in JAR Manager reinstalls the server and the pack's files replace your configs. If you have a world you care about, keep Take a backup first ticked.
