Dimensional Ascension modpack Minecraft server

Install the Dimensional Ascension quest modpack on a Minecraft 1.19.2 Forge server from the Modpacks tab, with its server settings and voice chat notes.

Updated 3 min read

Dimensional Ascension is a Forge modpack for Minecraft 1.19.2 by ACCBDD. Its CurseForge page describes a guided adventure with more than 400 handwritten quests, ten dimensions, over 15 bosses, overhauled world generation and magic mods such as Botania and Ars Nouveau. You install the server from the Modpacks tab, using the pack's own server files from CurseForge.

Checked against Dimensional Ascension 0.8.1 (the CurseForge file dated 15 December 2024) and its server pack, on Forge 43.3.5 and Minecraft 1.19.2, October 2026.

Pick the right project

A search for Dimensional Ascension lists MeatballCraft, Dimensional Ascension first, because it has more downloads. That is a different pack by a different author. The one this guide covers is Dimensional Ascension by ACCBDD, which is the next result.

What the pack needs

  • Minecraft 1.19.2 with Forge 43.3.5. The server pack includes that Forge build. The panel switches Java for you, which is Java 17 for this version.
  • Memory. The CurseForge page gives no figure. The server pack's run.bat starts Java with -Xms2G -Xmx4G, but the panel does not use that script and sizes the heap from your plan's RAM at every start. Read how much RAM a Minecraft server needs and check the Minecraft plans before you install.
  • Disk space. The server pack is a download of about 628 MB and unpacks to about 741 MB. Both sit on your plan's disk while it unpacks, so allow about 1.4 GB free. The download is deleted afterwards, and your world grows on top. The Disk Analyser tab shows what is using space.
  • The same pack version for players. This guide installs 0.8.1, the newest version on the CurseForge page. Players should run that version from the CurseForge app.

Install the server files

Press the CurseForge chip above the search box and search for Dimensional Ascension. Press Install on Dimensional Ascension by ACCBDD, not the MeatballCraft pack. The popup names Forge and Minecraft 1.19.2. For the version dropdown, the backup and the EULA, follow Install a CurseForge modpack.

The server pack carries the Forge libraries and an installer jar, and the install runs that installer. Then press Start on the Console and wait for For help, type.

Settings the pack sets

The server pack ships its own server.properties, and the install keeps it. Open the Config Editor to change these:

  • max-players=20 is Player slots under Players.
  • view-distance=10 and simulation-distance=10 are View distance (chunks) and Simulation distance (chunks) under Performance. Lower them if the server struggles.
  • allow-flight=true is Allow flight under Gameplay.
  • spawn-protection=16 is Spawn protection (blocks) under World.
  • motd is Server list message under World, and it starts as "Dimensional Ascension 0.8.1".

Lag tools and pregenerating

The 0.8.1 notes say that version added Spark, to find sources of lag, and Chunky, to pregenerate the world so exploring does not wait on world generation. Both are in the server pack's mods folder. Their commands are in each mod's own documentation. Run them from the Console.

Voice chat

The pack includes Simple Voice Chat 2.5.12. Its shipped config/voicechat/voicechat-server.properties sets port=24454, and its comment says that setting port to -1 makes voice share the game's port, which is not recommended. If your plan includes extra ports, add one under Settings then Network ports, set port in that file to the new number and restart. How to add an extra port explains the card.

Common problems

  • A player cannot join. Check they run Dimensional Ascension 0.8.1 on Minecraft 1.19.2 with Forge, then compare their mod list with the server's mods folder.
  • The server crashes at boot. Find and read a crash report shows how to name the mod at fault.
