All The Mods Gravitas 2 modpack Minecraft server

All The Mods - Gravitas² is a Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge modpack built around TerraFirmaCraft. Its page describes a climb from stone-age tools to GregTech, thorium reactors and voyages to the stars, with Create, Integrated Dynamics and Applied Energistics along the way. The Modpacks tab installs it for you from the pack's CurseForge listing.

Checked against All The Mods - Gravitas² 0.9.4a on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge 47.4.10, the build the pack's manifest names, October 2026.

What the pack needs

• Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge. The pack's manifest names Forge 47.4.10. Minecraft 1.20.1 runs on Java 17, which the panel picks for you.
• A 12 GB plan or larger. The pack's page gives no RAM figure, and the install adds 252 mods. When this guide was checked, the server reached Done on Netherite (8 GB) and ran out of memory seconds later. On Dragon Egg (12 GB) it started and ran for over 10 minutes, using about 8.5 GB at 20 TPS. The plans between, 9 to 11 GB, were not tried, so pick Dragon Egg or larger from the Minecraft plans. • The same pack for players. Players install Gravitas² 0.9.4a from the CurseForge app, the file the server runs.

Install the server

On the Modpacks tab, press the CurseForge chip and search for Gravitas. Pick All The Mods - Gravitas², not All the Mods - Gravitas - ATMG, which is the older Minecraft 1.18.2 pack. The popup names Forge and Minecraft 1.20.1. The version list, the backup and the EULA are covered in Install a CurseForge modpack.

Leave the version dropdown on Newest that fits your server, which takes 0.9.4a. That file has no server pack, so the window says the server is built from the pack's mod list. It also lists two mods to download first, Corail Tombstone and Colds: Grappler & Ropes (Forge): drop each download in, as Modpack mods to download from CurseForge shows, or tick Install without them (add them later from this tab). When this guide was checked, the server started without them.

The install turns off 26 mods that only run on players' computers and keeps Scorched Guns on, which the pack's world needs. The pack ships no server engine, so the install sets up Forge 1.20.1-47.4.10, the build the pack's manifest names. Then press Start on the Console and wait for For help, type.

Settings to set yourself

The startserver.sh script in the 0.9.4 server files writes allow-flight=true and max-tick-time=180000 into a new server.properties. The 0.9.4a install doesn't run that script, so set them yourself in Config Editor: Allow flight and Watchdog timeout (ms). The install already creates server.properties, so open Config Editor once it finishes, change the two options, then press Save changes in each section (or use the save bar that appears), and restart. The Watchdog timeout (ms) setting kills the server when one tick takes longer than the number you set, and it is 60000 by default.

Common problems

• The server stops right after it starts. On Netherite (8 GB) it ran out of memory just after Done. Press Download Log in the Console tab to read the error, then use Change plan in the Settings tab.
• A player cannot join. Check they run the same pack version and Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge.
• Two mods that do not mix. The 0.9.4 changelog says Create Power Grid and Valkyrien Skies do not crash but are incompatible, and asks server owners to tell players not to use the two together.
• The server crashes at boot. Find and read a crash report shows how to name the mod at fault.
