All The Horror modpack Minecraft server

Install the All The Horror 1.12.2 Forge modpack from the Modpacks tab using its CurseForge Minecraft server pack, with memory and Java 8 notes.

Updated 3 min read

All The Horror is a horror modpack for Minecraft 1.12.2 on Forge. Its CurseForge page lists quests, blood moons, an infection that changes biomes and mobs, creepy extra dimensions and more than 140 mods. The page also warns that the pack may not suit younger players or anyone who struggles with horror or anxiety, and that it can have flashing lights and jumpscares. You install the server from the Modpacks tab, using the pack's own server files.

Checked against All The Horror 1.0 (CurseForge file dated 6 March 2024) on Forge 14.23.5.2860 and Minecraft 1.12.2, October 2026.

What the pack needs

  • Minecraft 1.12.2 with Forge 14.23.5.2860. The server files include that Forge jar. For Minecraft versions before 1.17 the panel runs Java 8 and picks it for you.
  • Memory. The pack's page recommends 8 GB or more, and says a server may need more than 8 GB to avoid lag. Your plan sets the RAM, so read how much RAM a Minecraft server needs and check the Minecraft plans before you install.
  • Disk space. The server files are a download of about 587 MB and unpack to about 615 MB. The download sits on your plan's disk while it unpacks, so you need room for both.
  • The same pack version for players. Players should install All The Horror 1.0 from the CurseForge app. The page recommends OptiFine for 1.12.2 and a shader on the player's side, and neither is needed on the server.

Install the server

Under the CurseForge chip in Modpacks, search for All The Horror and press Install on All The Horror (1.12.2), checking the row says it is by Chongo333. For the version list, the backup and the EULA, see Install a CurseForge modpack.

The installer puts the pack's mods in mods, finds the Forge jar in the server's root and launches it, and the panel writes its own start script that sizes the heap from your plan's RAM.

First start

The first start writes Minecraft's default settings to server.properties. After the first start, open the Config Editor to set things like Difficulty and Player slots.

Common problems

  • A player cannot join. Check they run All The Horror 1.0 on Minecraft 1.12.2 with Forge, then compare their mod list with the server's mods folder.
  • The server crashes at boot. Find and read a crash report shows how to name the mod at fault. The pack's page points bug reports to an issues form.
