Dragon Ball Zeef Minecraft server setup

Install Dragon Ball Zeef on Forge 1.7.10 from the Modpacks tab, then remove the operator accounts its Minecraft server files ship and turn the whitelist on.

Updated 3 min read

Dragon Ball Zeef is a Forge modpack for Minecraft 1.7.10 built around the Dragon Block C mod and the Dragon Ball franchise, with a tweaked story mode and five custom forms. It comes from the Zeefski videos. You install it on your server from the Modpacks tab using the pack's own server files, which are a separate download from the client pack.

Checked against Dragon Ball Zeef 2.5 on Forge 10.13.4.1614 for Minecraft 1.7.10, October 2026.

What the pack needs

  • Minecraft 1.7.10 with Forge 10.13.4.1614. The server files name both in their variables.txt. 1.7.10 is old enough that the panel runs it on Java 8, and it picks that for you.
  • Memory. The pack's page gives no RAM figure. The server files carry a sample launch line with 4 GB, which is a reasonable starting point. For a rough size by player count, see how much RAM a Minecraft server needs.
  • The same pack for every player. Each player installs Dragon Ball Zeef 2.5 from its CurseForge page or the CurseForge app. Dragon Block C and the pack's other mods have to be installed on both sides.

Install the pack

Under Modpacks, press the CurseForge chip, search for Dragon Ball Zeef and press Install on Dragon Ball Zeef. The popup should read Forge, Minecraft 1.7.10. The server files include their own world folder, so your current world is replaced unless you tick Keep my world, settings and player lists. If the popup shows a note about your world's Minecraft version in its place, your world is newer than the pack (1.7.10) and cannot be kept: the pack starts a fresh world and your old one stays in the backup. The server files are a download of about 116 MB. The rest of the window (the version list, the backup and the EULA) is in Install a CurseForge modpack. Then press Start on the Console and wait for For help, type.

Check your operators before anyone joins

The server files ship an ops.json that already lists four operator accounts at permission level 4. They were set by the pack's makers, not by you. If you ticked Keep my world, settings and player lists at install, your own ops.json was kept in its place.

  1. Open the Players tab and press Operators.
  2. Remove every account you did not add yourself, using the remove button on its row.
  3. Press Make operator and add your own account if it is not listed.

Unless you ticked Keep my world, settings and player lists, which puts your own server.properties back, the pack's server.properties sets white-list=false, so anyone with your address can join. Stay on the first tab of the Players page. It reads Players while the whitelist is off and Whitelist once it is on. Press Add for each of your players, which opens the Add to whitelist window, then press Turn whitelist on in the page header. If the list is empty the panel warns you first, because an empty whitelist locks everyone out, you included. How to whitelist players and set operators has the full steps.

Common problems

  • Mod mismatch on join. The player's pack version differs from the server's. Both need 2.5.
  • The server runs out of memory. Watch the RAM card on the Console tab, and move to a bigger plan if it stays full.
  • A solid color covers the screen on the client. That happens on the player's side, not the server's. The pack's page suggests the CoreTweaks mod for it.
