Getting Started
Add your server to Steam favorites
Save your server in the Steam client's Favorites tab: which games it works for and which port to enter for each.
Steam keeps a list of game servers you have saved, and Enshrouded shows the servers in it at the top of its own server browser. Saving your server there is a quick way to find it again. This guide covers the steps in the Steam client and the one detail that trips most people up: the port you type is the query port, which is not always the port you join on.
Which games this works for
You enter the server's IP and its query port, so this applies to games that use Steam's server browser.
ARK: Survival Ascended has no query port, so Steam favorites do not apply to it. Valheim's query sits on the game port plus one, which can belong to another server on our network, so favorites may not find it. Use the join code or Join IP, as in Valheim getting started. For any game not in the table, follow that game's own getting started guide.
Get the address from your panel
- Open your server and choose Settings under More in the left rail.
- Scroll to Connections and the Network ports card.
- Copy the IP and port from the Primary row with its copy button. That row is the game port.
- On Rust, open Startup under More and copy the Query Port value as well.
Add it in Steam
These steps follow the game developer Keen Games' own instructions for Enshrouded. The window itself belongs to the Steam client.
- Open the Steam client on your computer.
- In the View menu, choose Game Servers.
- Open the Favorites tab.
- Select the + button at the bottom to add a server.
- Enter the IP and port separated by a colon, for example
203.0.113.10:25565.
Start the server first, and wait until the Console shows it is ready. Then open the game's server browser. Enshrouded lists favorited servers at the top of it.
If it doesn't show up
- Check the port first. On Rust and ARK, the query port is not the game port.
- Check the server is running and is not mid-start. Can't connect to your server? Fix it covers the rest.
- Remove and re-add it if a saved favorite stops working after a change on your server.
Favorites are saved on your own computer, not on the server. Each friend adds the server in their own Steam, or joins another way.
